Port Blair, June 7: Indian Coast Guard Ship Sagar an AOPV class of ship, with integral helo, entered Port Blair harbour today morning. The ship is on her passage for overseas deployment to Singapore, Philippines and Brunei. During her overseas deployment she will conduct combine exercises with law enforcement agencies of these countries, to further strengthen working level relationship and inter-operability with their counter parts. 
 
ICGS Sagar is build by M/s Goa Shipyard Ltd and was commissioned in service on 3rd Nov 2003. The ship has complement of 12 officers and 93 Enrolled Personnel. ICGS Sagar is fitted with latest equipment on board and capable of undertaking any Coast Guard related task at sea. 
 
The Ship is presently based at Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu and Commanded by Deputy Inspector General Ali Muttaher, TM who is a Fixed Wing Pilot. The officer was awarded Tatrakshak Medal (Gallantry) for his outstanding work in relief operations conducted in Andaman & Nicobar Island post Tsunami-2004 while commanding Indian Coast Guard Ship Vivek.
