Port Blair, June 16: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Nicobar district has conducted three training programmes in the month of May namely in the field of “Backyard Poultry Farming” from 23rd to 25th May, 2011, at Tamaloo village, second on”Nadep Dwara Compost Banane Ki Vidhi from 26th to 28th May, 2011 at Perka village and third on “Control of Rhinoceros Beetle in Coconut Plantation through Baculo virus” from 31st May to 02nd June, 2011 at Big Lapathi village. 
 
During the training programme the participants were given knowledge on the different aspects of Backyard Poultry Farming, Compost making and Control of Rhinoceros Beetle in Coconut Plantation through Baculo virus by the concern Subject Matter Specialists and the resource personnel of Department of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. The farmers expressed their happiness on the method of imparting the training by the personnel of Krishi Vigyan Kendra. All together 45 men and 22 women totalling to 67 from three cluster of village were benefitted.

Meshack, 2nd Headman, Tamaloo village, Mr. Moses on behalf of 1st Headman, Perka Village, Mr. Chemberlin Paul, Vice Chief Captain, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar, Mr. Micheal Johny, 1st Captain, Big Lapathi Village, Car Nicobar and along with 2nd and 4th Captain, Big Lapathi, Dr. Shivkumar, S.V.O., Car Nicobar and Mr. Kamaljeet Singh, Assistant Director, Department of Agriculture were the guest during the programmes.
