I am happy to know that the Andaman & Nicobar Administration is observing Anti-Malaria Month during June 2011, along with the rest of the country. The main aim of Anti-Malaria Month is to seek cooperation from all walks of people through awareness generation and IEC activities.
In this regard inter-sectoral coordination and active cooperation of various Government Departments and Voluntary Agencies is also essential to achieve overall reduction of malaria in this territory.
I appeal to all this islanders, Government Departments, Municipal Council, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Voluntary Organisations, Mahila Mandals etc. to extend their wholehearted support to the Directorate of Health Services in observing Anti-Malaria Month in order to fulfil the objectives of curtailing malaria and other vector borne disease.
