Port Blair, Jan. 5: It has been experienced that the crowd and vehicles who visits the Island Tourism Festival is increasing every year. Due to heavy influx of pedestrians, the roads are packed and it becomes very difficult for the public to negotiate the roads or park their vehicles at the venue.

No Motor vehicles coming from Lamba Line will be allowed to proceed towards the ITF ground from Hayat Singh junction.

All the diverted motor vehicles (including Private and STS Buses) will take a route via Vijay Baugh, Dr. Markar Hospital or Junglighat (TCI Building) to Goal Ghar junction and from Goal Ghar all vehicles except heavy vehicles and Buses which intend to proceed to the ITF ground including LMVs, Three Wheelers and Two Wheelers, will take the route of Secretariat, Rabindra Bangla Vidyalaya and ITF ground.

No heavy vehicles (including Buses) will be allowed to enter the ITF route. They will park their vehicles inside Veer Savarkar Airport for dropping and picking up the visitors.

No vehicles (except Buses) will be allowed to return back to Junglighat from Goalghar junction. These Buses will proceed to Lambaline, School Line via Junglighat, Hayat Singh junction and Dairy Farm junction.

All commercial Heavy or Medium vehicles shall proceed to Bangali Club from Bathu Basthi junction via Austinabad, Chakkar Gaon, Naya Gaon junction, Murgan Temple and Model School. They will also return to Bathu Basthi by the same route.

No Heavy Vehicles will be allowed to ply between Rabindra Bangla Vidyalaya to Hayat Singh Crossing during the ITF. However these vehicles can be parked inside Veer Savarkar Air Port for dropping and picking up the public.

This arrangement has been introduced this year keeping in view the safety and security of road users, especially pedestrians during the peak hours of the huge gathering that visits the Island Tourism Festival, the Director General of Police said here.
