Port Blair, Aug. 21: Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been pleased to accord approval for continuation of incentive oriented schemes under Sector Industries & Minerals, Sub-Sector Village & Small enterprises for the 12th Five Year Plan period 2012-17.

Under the scheme Capital Investment Subsidy for Micro & Small Enterprises, subsidy on fixed capital investment shall be granted to Small & Micro Enterprises to the tune of 25% in South Andaman, Middle & North Andaman Districts, subject to a maximum of Rs 50.00 lakh and to the tune of 50% subsidy on the fixed capital investment in Nicobar district, subject to a maximum of Rs 50.00 lakh.

Under Island Transport Subsidy programme for Micro & Small Enterprises freight charges shall be reimbursed as transport subsidy for transportation of raw materials from Chennai Port to the location of the unit in the Union Territory and for transportation of finished goods from location of the unit to Chennai Port. Enterprises shall be eligible from the sixth year from the date of commencement of production up to 10th year i.e. for a period of 5 years at reduced rates whereas in Andaman & Nicobar Inter Island Transport Subsidy for Micro & Small Enterprises, the subsidy would be reimbursed for transportation of raw materials from any inter island port/jetty in the A & N Islands to the location of the unit in islands and for transportation of finished goods from location of the unit to any Inter island port/jetty in Islands and this subsidy will only be provided for the first five years from the date of commencement of commercial production at reduced rates.

Under the programme 50% subsidy for procurement of Pollution Control Equipments, Captive Power Generation Sets, Solar Power, Wind Power, Bio Mass and Hydro power machineries & equipments, Micro & Small Enterprises set up in Andaman & Nicobar

Islands are eligible for post investment subsidy to the maximum limit of Rs 7.50 lakh each for Captive Power Generation sets and for Pollution Control equipment and Rs. 10.00 lakh for solar power or wind power or Bio Mass or hydro power machinery & equipments.

Under the programme 90% subsidy on procurement of Bakery equipments, hand tool for General Engineering, Carpentry, Masonry, virgin coconut oil extractor and Handicraft tools to tribals of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 90 % subsidy would be extended on actual cost or Rs 50000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand only) whichever is less in the case of individual entrepreneur and for Self help group of tribal origin or Tuhet, 90% of the actual cost of tools and equipments or Rs 50,000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand only) multiplied by number of tribal persons in that group/Tuhet subject to maximum of Rs.2,50,000/-(Rupees two lakhs fifty thousand only, whichever is less.
