Port Blair, Sept. 30: The Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 at Minnie bay celebrated Hindi fortnight with record number of contests for the students in different categories.  The fortnight celebration concluded with the valedictory function held at the school ground on Saturday last.

About 800 students participated in various contests including poetry writing, story writing, essay, elocution, singing, painting, quiz etc.  For the primary level children, Hindi numeral and word writing contests were held exclusively.

In the closing ceremony, DVS Deep,  Deputy Director of News, All India Radio was the Chief guest, while A Dhanasekaran, Asst Director, Press Information Bureau participated as guest of honour and they gave away the prizes to the winners of different contests.

Earlier, the Principal of the School, Bishwanath Hansda welcomed the gathering. The Hindi lecturer, Omprakash aiswal proposed vote of thanks.
