Port Blair, Sept. 6: A Jarawa lady was killed by a crocodile while she was crossing a nallah near Kadamtala, Middle Andaman. The incident took place on 4th Sept. 2012 during afternoon hours when the lady named Antu-eta around 35 years old along with her friend Ega-te-beta were on their way to fish at Jhulan Pathar, near Kadamtala.

According to sources, the two ladies carried thremocol with them to use it as float and reach nearby island where they could get their catch. Unfortunately while crossing the creek at Jhulan Pathar, Antu-eta was pulled by a crock. Ega-te-beta somehow had managed to escape.

Ega-te-beta later informed the matter to the AAJVS at Kadamtala. While all efforts are on to trace the victim’s body, bad weather conditions prevailing in the islands has been playing spoil sport, causing hindrance in the operation.
