Port Blair, March 25: A new SMS alert system to avoid undue delay from the department has been introduced wherein immediate information is passed on to the Secretaries/HODs if any grievance is not redressed within the time frame. The online system gives directions to the departments to redress the grievance in a definite time frame depending upon the nature of grievance. These are monitored in Raj Niwas and now the SMS alert system will directly invite attention of Secretaries/HODs in case of any delay. The portal is updated on a regular basis and the citizen can even view the status including action taken on his/her grievance on the website.
Out of 1182 grievances lodged on the portal forwarded to multiple departments, 984 stood redressed and 111 rejected. Remaining 87 are under process, a communication from Raj Niwas said today.
