Port Blair, Feb 11: A team of officials from the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, Andaman and Nicobar Administration along with the Gram Panchayat Officials conducted an inspection drive in all market places and commercial establishments in Wandoor Gram Panchayat area to implement Rural Areas Solid Waste Management and Handling Bye Laws, 2019.

Port Blair, Feb 11: It is to inform to the general public that various case properties seized under section Police Act, 1861, MZI Act, 1985 and Foreigners Act, 1946 are lying for disposal at Diglipur Police Station. Some of the properties are kept in the Malkhana of PS Diglipur and other properties like dinghies are kept at Aerial Bay jetty, Kishori Nagar Dinghy ghat and Radhanagar dinghy ghat. Port Blair, Feb 11: Acting on a compliant received regarding unhygienic and dumping of waste in drains and nearby areas in Kanyapuram Gram Panchayat under Ferrargunj Block in the South Andaman District, the Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs, Andaman and Nicobar Administration mobilized the grass root level functionaries and cleared the garbage within 24 hours. Large amount of waste in the form of Plastic bottles, MLPs, Glass bottles etc. were recovered and sent for further processing.

Port Blair, Feb 11: The officials of the Food Safety Department conducted surprise inspection of food business premises located at Bambooflat, Wimberly Gunj, Garacharma, Prem Nagar and Aberdeen Bazaar and seized huge quantities of banned half litre and one litre packaged drinking water in plastic bottles. Date of packing/best before, batch No., etc. were not mentioned in the bottles for the information of customers which is clear cut violation of Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labeling) Regulations, 2011.

ZSI Team Spots Female Turtle at Galathea, Tagged by Researchers in 2014

Port Blair, Feb 10: It was a delight for the researchers, when a team of Zoological Survey of India spotted a tagged turtle, in the South Bay Galathea in the Great Nicobar Island on 8th of February 2021. The female turtle is said to have been tagged in the year 2014 by the ANET researchers in Little Andaman Island.
