Port Blair, April 18: The situation of COVID-19 in the UT has been assessed / reviewed and it has been observed that there has been sudden surge in COVID-19 cases and therefore it has become necessary to take certain emergent measures to prevent & contain the spread of virus in the interest of public health.

In view of this, it has been decided to curtail/restrict the frequency of inter district movement of buses plying on NH 4 between South Andaman District and North & Middle Andaman District w.e.f 19th April, 2021.

Port Blair, April 18: The State President BJP, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi has written a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman demanding opening up of more COVID-19 vaccination centres across the two districts.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament and  President, PCC alongwith the leaders of Congress Party has expressed grief and heartfelt condolences on the demise of Shri Sheo Krishna aged 80 years, Retired Executive Engineer, APWD, a resident of Biggie line who breathed his last on 18.04.2021.

Port Blair, April 18: A Free Health Camp was conducted today by True Vision Foundation (NGO) in association with Chennai Sri Balaji Scan Centre, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair at Foundation’s office, Babu Line, Port Blair. During the camp, Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. N. Prudvi Raj, M. S. Orthopedic Surgeon (Chennai) provided the health care services to the visiting patients.

The President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators, M.Vinod has deeply mourned the sudden and untimely demise of Shahul Rasheed Ahmed, Pharmacist, Chatam Saw Mill, Residence of Garacharma who breathed his last at Chennai.
