Port Blair, July 28: The A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) conducted a mainstreaming training programme on HIV/AIDS for the CRPF deployed for internal security duty at District Jail, Prothrapur on 27.07.2023 at 10.00 am. 42 personnel participated the training programme.

The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society.

Port Blair, July 28: The A&N Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, conducted a National Apprenticeship Awareness Workshop at Lemon Tree Hotel here yesterday.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training), A&N Administration, Shri. B S Jaglan, IAS, emphasized the commitment of the Administration in engaging apprentices in various departments to provide gainful employment opportunities for the youth of the Islands. He highlighted the numerous benefits of the apprenticeship training scheme, emphasizing its significant contribution to society and addressing the local skill requirements. He also highlighted the action plan of A&N Administration for implementing and strengthening the apprenticeship training scheme and urged all departments to align with the initiative.

Port Blair, July 28: Due to administrative reason, the examination scheduled on July 29 of UG / PG courses of Pondicherry University has been postponed and rescheduled to Aug. 23, 2023.

Port Blair, July 28: The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration organized a workshop on ‘Building Sustainable and Socially Responsible Start-ups’ in the Conference Hall of Industries Department today for the start-ups as well as entrepreneurs and college students of A&N Islands to further strengthen the Startup Ecosystem and boost the growth of start-ups.

The event saw an overwhelming response from the students of various colleges of these Islands such as DBRAIT and Tagore Govt. College as well as entrepreneurs and youths who whole heartedly participated in the event and gained information on the Start-up India scheme.

Port Blair, July 28: The students who are interested in pursuing diploma programmes in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering Technology at DBRAIT have been informed that few seats are vacant in the above mentioned disciplines and few seats are also vacant in Govt. Polytechnic Diglipur in “Civil & Computer Science Engineering”.
