Chief Secretary Along with His Team Visit Lamba Pahad, Sippighat to Inspect Plotting Area
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 21: At the request of Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, A&N Islands and in order to understand the ground realities for the examination of the long-pending land conversion matter, the Chief Secretary and his team visited Lamba Pahad, Sippighat on 20.01.2025 and inspected the plotting area. They visited the plotting sites, interacted with residents in the presence of the MP, and listened to their grievances regarding the non-conversion of land, which is affecting over 600 plots.

Mayabunder, Jan. 21: The Annual Athletic meet of GSS, Chainpur was held today. Smt L.K.G. Rajavally, Executive Engineer, APWD Mayabunder, was the chief guest on the occasion while Ms. Kalaiyarasi, Assistant Engineer SD I Mayabunder was the guest of honour. The Vice Principal, Smti Jyothi Jose Lakra welcomed the gathering. The chief guest gave away prizes to the winners of 200 mtrs. race for girls and other events.

Campbell Bay, Jan. 21: The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) in Campbell Bay, has launched a campaign to address the growing issue of stray cattle and dog population. This initiative is part of the ongoing Animal Welfare Fortnight, a period dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, raising awareness about their rights, and implementing measures to ensure their well-being.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 21: The general public have been informed that the following Traffic arrangements have been made in connection with Full Dress Rehearsal on 24th January 2025 and ‘Republic Day Function’ on 26th January 2025.
1) The carcade of the Hon'ble Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, will follow the route Fire Brigade Crossing → Vikas Bhawan → Scout Hut Junction → Y Narayan Junction, and arrive at Cellular Jail. After the wreath-laying ceremony at the Cellular Jail Martyrs’ Column, the carcade will proceed to the venue via the route; Cellular Jail → Water Sports Tri-Junction→ Marina Park. The Hon'ble Lt. Governor's carcade will be parked inside Marina Park near the designated alighting point.
