Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 24: The Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS has said that the Administration is working hard and sincerely for the overall development of Islands and for the welfare of the Islanders. Shri Keshav Chandra was speaking today (Sunday 24 November) at a Programme, organized by Chinmaya Mission to bid him farewell on his transfer to New Delhi.

Communist Party of India (Marxist), Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee condole the sudden demise of Shri Gupteshwar Lall, a retired employee of Government Press and resident of Dairy Farm on 22.11.2024.  He was 64 years. He was the younger brother of Shri Suresh Lall, Vice President, Government Pensioners Association, A & N Islands.   CPI (M) conveys its heartfelt condolence to the family members of late Gupteshwar Lall.     

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 22: On relinquishing charge after two years & three months as Chief Secretary, A&N Administration and proceeding for his next assignment, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS paid a farewell call on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. Hon’ble Lt. Governor complimented him on his many significant contributions to these Islands and conveyed best wishes for his new assignment.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 22: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today unveiled Policies related to Tourism activities & Guide to Direct Recruitment, SOP for North Cinque Island and Logo of A&N Administration in the conference hall of Raj Niwas here today.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Lt. Governor noted with appreciation that A&N Islands have done immensely well in the Rozgar Melas held from time to time by filling around 5400 posts in different Departments. At some occasion, A&N Islands stood first in the country for giving maximum number of appointment letters from a Single Centre during ‘Rozgar Mela’ conducted across the country. The Lt. Governor stated that he himself chaired the review meetings periodically regarding the recruitment process so that the entire recruitment process is completed in a time bound manner.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 22: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS today unveiled a book penned by him titled ‘When Turquoise Waters Turned Dark’. At a brief function held in the conference hall of the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary unveiled the Book in the presence of Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands, senior Officers of A&N Administration and members from media fraternity.
