Rangalal Halder has addressed a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, highlighting the urgent need for temporary accommodation facilities for caregivers accompanying patients referred to Port Blair for medical treatment. This appeal comes amidst the ongoing repair and maintenance work at the SVPMC Dharamshala near Marina Park, which has rendered the facility unavailable.

Act 1988 (Act No.59 of 1988) read with Administration’s Notification No./2008/F.No.32-95/2008-TR dated 10th March, 2008, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District has notified for the information of all concerned that the road closure between Marina Park crossing and Girls School Traffic Junction to Mahavir Singh Road on 25.01.2025 from 7.30 am to 9.30 am for the performances of cultural teams. During the performances of cultural teams, the Marina Park road will be closed on 25.01.2025 from 7.30 am to 9.30 am.

2200 ‘MY Bharat’ Youth from Colleges and NYKs Participate in Jai Hind Padyatra
Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 23: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration in association with Department of Education, NYK and other line Departments organized Padyatra to commemorate the event. The event was marked by a mega Padyatra spanning 4.5 km, symbolizing the indomitable spirit of patriotism and dedication to the nation inspired by Netaji. Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse participated in the ‘Jai Hind’ Padyatra today in Sri Vijaya Puram, as part of the Parakram Diwas celebrations to honour the 128th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 23: Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Nikhil Khadse during her visit to A&N Islands on January 22 & 23, met Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon'ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency at Raj Niwas today. Hon'ble Lt. Governor apprised the Minister about the potential for Sports Projects in the Islands and provision of world-class facilities for athletes, fostering sports infrastructure development and promoting the region as a hub for sporting excellence, especially as Islands athletes have brought great pride to India internationally with their achievements in Cycling. Particular emphasis was laid on talent spotting & grooming of youth in traditional skills like Archery & Swimming among the Tribal Population.
