Port Blair, Feb 9: Continuing its zero tolerance against the illegal trade of narcotic drugs in South Andaman District, the team of Police Station Chatham apprehended two drug peddlers and seized a total 1.510 kgs of “Ganja” from them.

Port Blair, Feb 9: On 09.02.2021, the Police Training School, Prothrapur along with an NGO “Humane Touch” conducted an awareness programme on Ill effects of Drugs and Community Policing at Kamraj English Medium Sr. Sec. School, Broookshabad, Port Blair. The objective of the programme is to enhance knowledge among children and to make them aware about ill effects caused by drugs, need and importance of community policing in present society and advisory to be alert, safe and stay away from such bad practices. A total of 61 students and 05 teachers attended the programme.

Port Blair, Feb 9: Today, BOAS, the benefactor of the event along with a local NGO Compassionate Live in Action (CLA) distributed dry ration kits comprising of 25 essential commodities to 150 Pastors, Imams, Gurus and Poojaris. Appeals Government to Provide Incentives and Investments for Developing Fisheries
Port Blair, Feb 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has raised the issue in the Parliament under Rule 377 on 05/02/2021 regarding development of fishery potential in Andaman & Nicobar Islands to generate employment and boost the economy of the Islands. He informed the House that the Andaman & Nicobar Islands have vast potential for fisheries development in view of its coastal length of about 1.962 kms and continental shelf area of 35,000 sq. kms.
