Port Blair, March 2: The Coast Guard Component of Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a blood donation camp under aegis of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Port Blair. The blood donation camp was organised on 28 Feb 22 by CG Dist HQ, in co-ordination with GB Pant hospital. The objective of the camp was to motivate people to donate blood voluntarily with the aim of saving precious lives of needy patients. The camp was inaugurated by IG Dinesh Rajaputhran, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar). As many as 62 volunteers donated blood during the camp.

Port Blair, Mar. 2: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,07,756 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,190 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 8750.

Port Blair, March 1: After getting news about Andaman students, who are stuck at Ukraine, the Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to take up the matter with the concerned Ministry as well as the Prime Minister of India and demanded immediate evacuation of all students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with other Indian Students from Ukraine.

Port Blair, Mar. 2: During RAT conducted on 15passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 31 passengers, no positive case has been detected.  At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 17 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. RT-PCR test was conducted on 14 crew members of MV Chouldari, 14 crew members of MV Rangat and 45 crew members of MV Kalighat, reports of which are awaited.  At Helipad, test was conducted on 9 passengers, no positive case has been detected.

Port Blair, Mar. 1: The common refrain has been that since 1992, maximum amount of money has been spent in the Marina area, so the aim of the Govt. is to now develop a different level of sea experiences from Flag Point to Corbyn’s Cove. Many plans are afoot, many suggestions from people have been called and many facilities have been planned. To materialize this vision, the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain undertook an extensive inspection of the entire stretch from Flag Point to Corbyn’s Cove this morning.
