Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 11: Childhood Pneumonia continues to be the topmost infectious killer among under five children, contributing to 17.50 percent of under-five deaths in India. SAANS (Social Awareness & Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully) Campaign from November 12, 2024 to February 28, 2025 will ensure health system strengthening and community awareness towards childhood pneumonia. The SAANS Campaign 2024-25 will carry the tagline ‘Pneumonia nahi, toh bachpan sahi’ which clearly establishes the positive impact of a Pneumonia Free Childhood.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 11: Dakshata, an initiative of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India was launched on 7th November, 2024 in A&N Islands to improve the quality of Maternal and Newborn Care during the Intra and immediate postpartum period. In this regard, a three days training on Dakshata – Training programme to improve maternal, newborn care for Nursing Officers (2nd   Batch) was organized from Nov.7 to 9, 2024 in the Conference Hall of Directorate of Industries, Sri Vijaya Puram.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 11: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) along with Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, has extended support to TSG Charitable Foundation, A & N Islands in organizing a Blood Donation Camp at Dairy Farm Community Hall on Nov.9. A total of 31 units of blood were donated by the voluntary donors.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 11: The State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram has successfully completed the 6 days General EDP Programme with 31 women trainees from Directorate of Industries. The programme which commenced on Nov.4 culminated today. The programme was presided over by Shri Ajit Anand, Deputy Director of Industries, in the presence of Shri Rathinder Nath, IPO, Directorate of Industries, Shri Ummar Farooq, UTLBC, Chief Manager and Shri C Raj, Director, SBI-RSETI. 

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 11: The Directorate of Social Welfare remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a healthier and drug-free community through its ‘Hasgulla Club’ organized under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ (Drug-Free India Campaign). The Saturday session was led by Shri Ravinder Rao, an expert teacher from the Art of Living’ while the Sunday Session was held by Shihan M.S. Murgan an internationally recognized Laughter and Yoga Ambassador.
