MP Kuldeep Rai Sharma Makes Surprise Night Visit of Wards, Interacts with All Patients

Port Blair, May 17: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma made a surprise visit to GB Pant Hospital on 16.05.2021 (Sunday) night at 10 pm to assess the ground reality and the issue of patients and Para Medial Staff of COVID wards.  The MP visited all the six Corona wards and interacted with the each and every patient there. 

All the patients expressed their happiness with the treatment being provided to them for which the MP appreciated the entire Para Medical staffs attached with the corona wards for taking good care of the patients.  He also appreciated the A&N Administration for providing all logistic support and lifesaving medicines for the corona patients.

Port Blair, May 17: Niti Aayog’s ambitious project “Holistic Development of Great Nicobar Island at Andaman and Nicobar Islands” crossed the first hurdle as the green panel recommends a grant of Terms of Reference (TOR) for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies. The proposal was presented by a Gurugram based consulting agency Aecom India Private Limited- A Private firm involved in carrying studies for NITI Ayog’s mentioned project.

Port Blair, May 17: The District Child Protection Unit (South Andaman) is constantly monitoring all the Child Care Institutions and ensuring that the SOP’s needed to be adhered for the safety of the children are strictly followed with respect to the COVID-19 protocols. With respect to the health of the children at Child Care Institutions, one Doctor from the PHC falling within the jurisdiction of the respective CCI has been entrusted to provide medical care to the children by visiting once in a week.

Port Blair, May 17: In view of detection of a number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manpur, Collinpur and Temple Myo areas under Ferrargunj Tehsil, the District Magistrate South Andaman has declared the Manpur Part, Collinpur Part and Temple Myo part as Containment Zones as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.

Port Blair, May 17: Due to Technical snag, the services of one vehicle ferry vessel operating between Middle Strait and Baratang has been withdrawn on 17.05.2021 and diverted to operate between Uttara and Gandhighat. Due to this arrangement, services of only one vehicle ferry vessel MV North Bay will be available for service between Middle Strait and Baratang.  This situation may lead to disruption in free movement of vehicles in the route between Middle Strait and Baratang which is deeply regretted.
