Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 12: The Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, A&N Administration in association with Department of Education, JNRM, NYK, SAI and Ramakrishna Mission organized a Yoga Session, a Youth Rally and a special painting event ‘Art for Cause’ today to celebrate the National Youth Day 2025 on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Altogether, 800 youth from various educational institutions and general public of Sri Vijaya Puram participated in various programmes.

Katchal, Jan. 12: The much-anticipated First Assistant Commissioner Cup Inter-School Football Tournament concluded yesterday at Katchal Island, drawing the entire community together in a celebration of sports and camaraderie. Organized under the Nancowrie Sub-Division, the tournament featured six talented teams of under-17 boys from local schools, competing fiercely for first ever championship title.

Diglipur, Jan 10: Acting on credible information, a joint operation by the Diglipur Police and the Agriculture Department led to the detection of illegally stored chemical and bio-fertilizers at the Godown at RK Gram Village, Diglipur.

On 09/01/2025, the input regarding the illegal storage, import and sale of fertilizers was received and promptly communicated to Shri Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS (SDPO, Diglipur) and Mrs. Arti Singh, Assistant Director of Agriculture Department, Diglipur. On the directions of SDPO Diglipur, a special raiding team was constituted and a raid was conducted in the presence of independent witnesses and the owner of the Godown, Smti. Suparna Das and her husband Shri. Liton Das. During the raid 758 bags of fertilizers including DAP and phosphate were detected illegally imported, stored and intended for sale in gunny plastic sacks.
