Port Blair, June 10: A blood donation camp was conducted at PHC Wimberlygunj by the District Administration in coordination with Civil Society Organisation in order to ensure sufficient stock of blood in the blood Bank of the GB Pant Hospital.
Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) has taken up the initiative for arrangement of blood donation camps at various places, keeping in view the scarcity of blood due to the prevailing pandemic situation, as most of the voluntary blood donors were not able to come forward to donate blood after vaccination and due to lockdown.

Port Blair, June 10: Upon getting a request from Shri K. Ganeshan, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC who approached Shri Gurmeet Singh, Secretary, PBGKR regarding few families of Buniyadabad who are left with no food or any ration to survive, the Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi immediately made arrangements to provide the ration kits.

Port Blair, June 10: As per data available, a total of 1,29,795 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81, 603 (approx.). A total of 10, 536 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 875 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. 575 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which, 528 were in the age group of 18-44 years. In N&M Andaman, 291 beneficiaries were vaccinated and all of them were between the age group of 18-44 years. In Nicobar District, 9 persons were vaccinated and all were above 45 years.

Port Blair, June 10: Continuing their efforts to reach the needy in the pandemic times, the even management company 4 Seasons today distributed ration kits, face masks and sanitizers at Teylorabad, Attam Pahar, Dollygunj, Old Pahargoan, Barud Godown, Madar Pahar and Garacharma. As many as 60 ration kits were distributed.

Port Blair, June 8: The Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh addressing the media persons on COVID-19 status in the Islands in the conference hall of IP&T here this evening stated that said that for the first time, after the rise in number of cases during the second wave, the number of active cases has come down to below 100 i.e. 96 as on June 7.
The Administration has also made arrangement for the stranded passengers bound for Little Andaman and accordingly, the vessel MV Kalighat will depart for Hut Bay on June 10. Passengers intending to travel shall be subjected to RT-PCR and only those passengers whose reports are negative will be allowed to travel.
