Port Blair, June 4: South Andaman District Police in its continuous crackdown against illegal Narcotics trade in A&N Islands arrested an incoming passenger carrying 5.73 Kg Ganja clandestinely concealed in his luggage on 31/05/2021. Two local drug peddlers were also arrested in connection with this consignment.

Port Blair, June 4: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to release pension for old age, widow, handicapped and destitute persons. Many of these persons are not getting there pensions because they have not linked there Adhaar card with bank. Because of Covid lockdown and no mode of transportation, these persons are unable to go to the bank for their Adhaar linkage.

Port Blair, June 4: Shri VISHAL JOLLY, Core‐Committee Member & Former State President, BJP‐A & N Islands and Member, Home Ministry Advisory Committee urged the Administration to provide monetary & ration support to the Islanders who were engaged in auto/taxi/truck/tour sector. These daily wage earners have been hardest hit due to loss of job in Lockdown to tide over situation. He requested the administration to immediately shed light on this matter in this crisis situation.

Port Blair, June 4: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands and so far, a total of 8,634 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. As per the data available, altogether, 328 persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman District.
