Port Blair, Sept. 12: A team comprising of Doctor (Ayurveda) and Para Medical Staff of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI), a Unit of CCRAS under the Ministry of AYUSH, Port Blair will be conducting a Tribal Health Care Survey and Ayurveda Awareness Programme and Free Ayurveda Medical Camp under Tribal Health Care Research Programme at Kamorta Island from Sept. 18 to 29.

Port Blair, Sept 13: Chinmaya Mission Port Blair will be organizing Shrimad Bhagwat Gyan Yagna Saptah (katha) from September 17 to September 24, 2024 during Pitru Paksh fortnight at Mission Auditorium. The Katha will be held from 4.30 pm to 8 pm every day. On the first day of Katha i.e. on 17th September 2024 a Kalash Yatra will be taken out from Gandhi Park to Mission at 4.30 pm. The devotees who are interested in Participating Kalsha yatra are requested to reach Gandhi Park on September 17 at 4.15 pm.

The link is valid for both ODL & Online Programmes (Pen & Paper & CBT Mode) and the examination is likely to commence from 02nd December 2024 onwards.

Kamorta, Sept. 13: On 12/09/2024 namely K. Durai S/o late Krishnan (48) yrs. R/o Kamorta bazar, Nancowrie passed away during his treatment at CHC Nancowrie. He was admitted at hospital on 11/09/2024. He had been residing alone in Kamorta Island for the last 30 years, where he worked as a tailor and also served as the General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Nicobar district. Unfortunately, no known family members or relatives have come forward to claim his body.

Port Blair, Sept. 11: In a major operation highlighting the unwavering commitment to the war on drugs, South Andaman District Police seized 2.075 kg of heroin. The operation was led by team of PS Bambooflat ably led by DySP Brij Mohan Meena and SHO Insp Rizwan Hasan. The seized contraband, with an estimated international market value exceeding ₹14 crores, led to the arrest of seven individuals. This marks the first time such a substantial quantity of heroin has been confiscated in the region.
