Port Blair, June 28: The Congress Leaders had recently visited Car Nicobar to understand the problems and grievances being faced by the communities out there. On behalf of the Tribal Communities, the ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder has raised the issue for Construction of Retaining Wall at Mus Jetty areas of Car Nicobar Islands.
Addressing a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Halder said that Mus Jetty holds significant importance to the communities of Car Nicobar, serving as a crucial transport hub and a vital link to neighboring islands.

Port Blair, June 28: Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960, it is the duty of every person having care or charge of any animal to take all reasonable measures to ensure the wellbeing of such animals and to prevent infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering. The same rule provides for establishment and regulation of societies for prevention of cruelty to animals in every district of the UT/State and such society will be called the District Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (District SPCA). The main function of the Society is to provide assistance to the Govt., Animal Welfare Board and Local Authorities in carrying out and implementing the provision of the Act. The DSPCAs were established in all the 3 districts of the UT which was notified on 23/11/2017.
