The award has been conferred upon for maintaining environmental harmony and setting a benchmark for sustainable coastal tourism.

Sri Vijaya Puarm, Dec. 3: The Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, today virtually inaugurated the e-Corner at Katchal, Chowra and Teressa Island of Nancowrie group of Islands, marking a significant milestone in the implementation of online services in the remote Islands. Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobars was also present. Shri Aditya Sangotra, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie, SRO Teressa, SRO Katchal also attended the inauguration ceremony, along with other line Departments and local residents of the respective Islands.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: The District Administration, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect government land, has successfully carried out eviction operations against fresh encroachments in Garacharama village, Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil and Guptapara village, Ferrargunj Tehsil.

In Garacharama village, unauthorized construction in the form of katcha structure on government revenue land was removed. A total of 0.01 hectares of land has been restored to the government khaata.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 3: A day long training program was conducted in the Conference Hall of AYUSH Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram for Medical Officers’ on Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI), Surveillance & Response: Operational Guidelines -2024 today. The program was jointly organized by WHO, UNDP, NHM and Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Health), A&N Administration as chief guest in the presence of Dr. Suja Antony, Director (Health), Dr. Subhodeep Bhuiyan, Consultant WHO along with officials from UNDP and DHS.

Ferrargunj, Dec. 3: Vidya Yuvakendra, a decade old voluntary organisation situated at Bhatubasti, working on Skill Development and Rural Development organised a ‘Humanity Outreach Programme’ at ABBHYUDAY Complex, Ferrargunj, South Andaman.

On 30th Nov. 2024, the Kendra conducted the programme with the permission of the Directorate of Social Welfare. The entire team of the Kendra along with few students from the Kendra performed variety of cultural programme for the Senior Citizens, physically challenged persons and children of the Home.
