Sri VIjaya Puram, Dec 1: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) organized motorbike rally for the observance of World AIDS Day today. More than 50 bikers from community, youth and Officials from Health Department participated in the motorbike rally.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 1: As part of the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP), two significant events were organized at Car Nicobar and Katchal to raise awareness and promote active participation in the fight against tuberculosis (TB). A TB Screening Health Camp was held yesterday at J.N.V School, Arong, Car Nicobar, which was led by Dr. Anwar Moosa, District TB Officer, DTC Nicobar District / CMO-BJR Hospital. Approximately 72 students from classes VIII, IX, and X were screened for TB. Following the screening, Dr.Moosa conducted an informative session on TB control strategies, stressing the importance of early detection, treatment adherence, and reducing stigma.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 1: The Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, North and Middle Andaman / Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder, Shri Ashish Joon, along with several officials, including Assistant Commissioner, Rangat, Shri. Vikas Kumar, Zilla Parishad Member, Pradhan, Long Island and Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer from Zilla Parishad, visited Long Island yesterday. The purpose of their visit was to inspect various assets managed by Zilla Parishad and review upcoming projects.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 1: The 30th Round of Foot and Mouth Disease Vaccination programme by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in South Andaman under Centrally Sponsored Scheme National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) commenced today. This comprehensive program includes vaccinating cattle and buffaloes against FMD, ear tagging these animals, and registering them in the Bharat Pashudhan Portal. The Department constituted 10 specialized vaccination teams for this initiative consisting of vaccinators and animal handlers and Senior Veterinary Officer as the team leader.
