Port Blair, Jan 10: Consequent upon declaring part of Hutbay village as Micro Containment zone, to take first hand stock of the ground situation and arrangements required to be made and for better preparedness in the fight against COVID-19, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) led a team of officials comprising of Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, SP (SA), Dr. Omkar Singh, DHS, Shri Yash Chaudhary, ADM, Shri Prem Singh Meena, AC(S) and Shri Lakshay Singhal, AC(U/T) visited Little Andaman.

Port Blair, 10: Indian Coast Guard organized Special Swachhta Abhiyan on 09 Jan at Corbyn’s Cove Beach to commemorate 44th Coast Guard raising day. The event was organised to spread awareness on cleanliness and creation of a clean and plastic free healthy habitat in our surrounding area under the aegis of Honb’le Prime Minister’s initiative ‘‘Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan’’ and ‘‘Swachhta hi Seva’’.

Port Blair, Jan 8: The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, the largest and only one recognised service Association of Govt. employees in these Islands has demanded immediate halting of the ongoing process to privatise the power sector in the Islands. In a letter dated 24th December,2020 addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the General Secretary of the Association Shri T S Sreekumar said the proposed privatization of Electricity Department of the islands is not viable or not in public interest considering the peculiar conditions of the islands.

Dharmendra Pradhan has launched missed call facility for LPG consumers in a step towards improving ease of living, the facility of LPG refilling and new connection registration by giving a single missed call. Indian Oil’s Indane LPG customers can use single missed call from their register number 845495555 for refill booking-for all India and for registering new connections similarly the same service is now available in A & N Islands.

Port Blair, Jan 8: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Shri NK Udaya Kumar has marked letters to the Home Minister and the Lt. Governor requesting to provide Examination Centre in the islands for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer.
