Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 31: The ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram, organized a field day on “Organic Integrated Farming System” in collaboration with KVK, Port Blair, at its Garacharma experimental farm on 31.01.2025. A total of 20 farmers attended the programme. The event aimed to raise awareness about the integrated farming system and sensitize farmers to the potential benefits of tree, crop, and animal combinations for enhancing farm productivity.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 31: Orientation session was conducted for the Block Staff and Self-Help Group (SHG) members for implementing Integrated Farming Cluster (IFC) under the Mahila Kisan Shashakti Karan Pariyojna (MKSP). The training was held on Jan. 30 & 31, 2025 at the Directorate of Rural Development (RD), Marine Hill.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 31: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has requested the A&N Administration to take immediate action in promoting organic farming and reducing the use of chemical fertilizers over raising concerns in the deteriorating soil health and the rising number of kidney-related ailments among Islanders.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 31: The District Administration, South Andaman in its continuous efforts to preserve community spaces and to ensure lawful use of public property has been keeping strict vigil and monitoring and government land is being restored back from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in past few days in South Andaman District.

The Revenue officials in Sri Vijaya Puram tehsil evicted encroachment in the form of tin shed over government revenue land situated at Calicut village. A total area of 200 Sq. Mtr of land was restored to its original status.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 31: The National Helpline for Senior Citizens, in association with the Directorate of Health Services organized an Ayushman Bharat Card drive at Abhyudaya Old Age Home, Ferrargunj, Sri Vijaya Puram, South Andaman on January 24, 2025.  NHSC team, with the support of the Directorate of Health Services, conducted the Camp for the e-card generation for 70+ elderly men residing at Abhyudaya Complex Old Age Home. Ayushman Bharat Cards were distributed to the elderly persons above 70. The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the NHSC team and Directorate of Health Services for conducting the camp.
