Port Blair, April 15: A solemn function was organised on 14th April, 2021 at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Statue situated at Port Blair Municipal Council premises in remembrance of the birth anniversary of the “Baba Saheb” Dr. B. R Ambedkar. 

Port Blair, April 15: Responding to PM Modi’s clarion call for working towards achieving maximum vaccination coverage for the priority groups during Tika Utsav  from April 11 to 14, Port Blair Guru ki Rasoi, Pankh and ISMAT, NGOs working for the upliftment of the society organised a vaccination drive in Beodnabad  with the support of the Former Up Pradhan, Shri R. Paramasivam, staff of the Health Deptt. and other frontline workers.

PBMC Appeals to Citizens to Keep Separate Bins for Segregated Waste

Port Blair, April 13: The Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) has already implemented door to door collection of segregated waste to achieve 100% processing of waste by means of waste transportation & proper disposal mechanism.

All concerned household Govt. & Pvt./Institutions and other establishments including banks, shops and schools are requested to kindly keep at least 02 bins for segregated dry & wet waste & 01 bag for hazardous waste in their  premises/establishments to support our municipal workers for further segregation in an effective manner. 

Port Blair, April 13: As a part of the ongoing Tika Utsav A&N Islands, the people have shown their full potential for vaccination drive with Jan Bhagidari.  About 6780 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 36 sessions and by about 85 teams.

Special ship been sent to Chawra Island by A&N Administration with a medical team under the leadership of Dr Solomon, M.O CHC Nancowry. The team reached the island in the afternoon and vaccination started for the people above 45 years of age.

Port Blair, April 13: In continuation of the District Administration’s drive to reach doorsteps of citizen, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner (SA)/SDM (SA) visited the rural areas of Manglutan and Chouldhari village. The team requested public aged 45+ to take COVID vaccination to fight against the COVID -19 pandemic.
