Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 3: The last date for Fresh Admission for July 2024 cycle for all Programmes in online/ODL mode (except for Semester based and Certificate programmes) extends by IGNOU till 15th October 2024. The re-registration for all programs are closed now. For online Admission students are advised to log on to https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/ and apply online application form at home or the nearest cyber café.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30: As per Order No. 2-25/2023-R/TSD/DC(SA)/4434 dt. 25.09.2024 issued by District Magistrate South Andaman, it was informed that Antinational Elements might carryout unlawful Acts in South Andaman District, which might endanger both, persons and property and they may stay in Homestays while doing preparation, reconnaissance and actual execution of the unlawful Acts and disturb public order and tranquillity in the A&N Islands.

Mayabunder, Sept. 30: To empower and inspire the youth of the district, the North & Middle Andaman District Police has launched the “DISHA” initiative, a comprehensive career guidance program aimed at students with aspirations for careers in the Civil Services and Armed Forces. This initiative is designed to provide mentorship and in-depth insights into these prestigious fields, helping students explore opportunities and guiding them in their preparation journey.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30: The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) was launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. The program aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month. The programme follows a systematic approach for engagement with private sector, which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer to provide antenatal care check-up including ultrasonography for pregnant women.

Kamorta, Sept. 30: Andaman & Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted Phase III of the Ex-Servicemen Outreach Programme for veterans residing in Kamorta and Nancowry Islands from 25-28 Sep 24. The main event was inaugurated by Commander Phani Kumar Nadendla, Commanding Officer, INS Kardip, on 28 Sep 24 at the Community Healthcare Centre, Kamorta.

A medical screening camp for civilians was also organized by HQ ANC at Community Health Center (CHC) Kamorta. Medical specialists, including an ophthalmologist and dental from INHS Dhanvantari and the Integrated Medical Station (IMS), were present to assist the local population. A total of 126 persons from Kamorta and Nancowry Islands attended the camp.
