Port Blair, July 12:  The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 2,29,925 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.).

Port Blair, July 12: Since entire Little Andaman has been declared as containment zone, on the request of Secretary (Edn.), Pondicherry University has allowed online mode of examination as per the SOP issued by the University for the students of integrated courses in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair for examinations which are scheduled from 13th July 2021 to 17th July 2021. All arrangements in this regard have been made and all the students have been informed personally.

Port Blair, July 11: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to provide 3,00,000 doses of vaccine for the islanders for cent percent immunization of islanders above 18 years. He said that Andaman & Nicobar Administration has till now managed the COVID-19 pandemic situation in a very professional manner in the last two waves by imposing containment zone, travel restrictions and lockdowns.

Port Blair, July 12: As per the communication received from the Pondicherry university in the evening, U.G.Ed March/April examinations scheduled on 13th, 14th and 15th July at Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair has been postponed. The revised dated for these examinations will be announced by the university later.

Port Blair, July 11: The District Administration in its efforts for the containment of COVID-19 is meticulously implementing the five-fold strategy Testing, Tracing, Treatment, Isolation and Vaccination in the District.

Vaccination camps are being held frequently in the far flung areas of the District. Till date, in the jurisdiction of the Wimberlygunj Health and Wellness Centre area around 2260 persons in the age group of 45 and above have been vaccinated out of which 850 persons have also got the second dose. Around 1416 persons in the age group of 18 plus have been provided with the first dose of the vaccine.
