AYUSH systems of medicine helping people to build immunity against ILI including COVID-19: DD AYUSH
Port Blair, April 25: is universally acknowledged that “Good health is the harbinger of happiness” and the AYUSH systems of medicine are playing a pivotal role in boosting the body’s immune system and minimizing the impact of viral infections. The Ayurvedic herbs such as tulsi, cinnamon, blackpepper, dry ginger etc are effective to increase the body’s immunity against harmful viruses. Listing the series of initiatives by the A&N State AYUSH Society, A&N Administration functioning under Directorate of Health Services, the Deputy Director (AYUSH), Dr. Kalyan Kabdhane said that since the outbreak of corona virus, immunity boosting medicine line Arsenicum album 30 (homeopathy medicine), Giloy/ Samshawati (Ayurveda), Ayush Kadha and other immunity enhancing medicines are being distributed to the people through AYUSH Hospital and its others branches located at different places from Diglipur to Campbell Bay. Consuming 1-2 tea spoon of Chawanprash on empty stomach will be very helpful in boosting immunity. Diabetic patients can take sugar free chawanprash, he said.

Requests Chief Secretary to Review and Modify Order No 731 on Leave Sanctioning Authority
Port Blair, April 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to consider for review and modify the Administration order No.731 dated 17.03.2021 so far concerned to leave sanctioning authority by including that the Head of Office/Head of Institution are also the competent authority for grant of leave including Casual Leave and Station Leaving Permission to Group B (Non Gazetted) officers as the said revised order it would be very difficult and most impractical for them to avail leave such kind of leave from the concerned Head of the Department stationed at Port Blair, especially in case of any exigency.

A&N Administration Creates Panel of Doctors for Tele-Consultation
Port Blair, April 25: It has been observed that a large number of Patients are approaching GB Pant Hospital even for minor ailment which create unnecessary crowd at OPD. In view of increase in number of COVID Positive cases such practice invites violation of COVID -19 Protocols.
In view of the above circumstances to protect the public, a panel of Doctors will be available for tele-consultation on mobile between 09:00 am to 01:00 pm on all working days.

Medicines and Oxymeters Distributed at Doorsteps of ILI and Positive Cases
Port Blair, April 25: To tackle the recent surge in the COVID positive cases in South Andaman and to prevent the further spread of the virus, the District Administration has taken various proactive steps. In this connection, distribution of medicines and providing of oximeters to the door steps of all the ILI cases, positive cases and contacts of positive cases is being done.

Appeals to Encourage People to Mandatorily Take Vaccination
Port Blair, April 24: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain today interacted with heads and representatives of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and sought their active cooperation in Administration’s fight against COVID-19. He outlined the various steps taken by the Administration to contain the spread of COVID-19 cases across the Islands. While addressing the religious heads/representatives, the Chief Secretary said, the country is currently fighting a tough battle against the virus and the priority of the Administration is to protect every islander from the pandemic. Stating that there is an exponential spike in the number of positive cases in the country, he said, the situation in the Islands is not that alarming, but we need to be extremely cautious and there is no room for complacency.
