Port Blair, Oct. 30: Awareness generation programmes on fire fighting and disaster preparedness followed by water curtain show were organized by A&N Police Fire Service on 29.10.2020 at Bathu Basthi and on 30.10.2020 at Prothrapur Junction, as part of Police Flag Day commemorative events. Handouts/leaflets on various fire safety precautionary measures were provided to the public who witnessed the programme.

MP Requests Waiver of COVID Test Charge for Inter Island People
Port Blair, Oct. 29: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has informed the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands that during his visit to North & Middle Andaman from 17th to 19th October 2020 and also during his 2 days visit to Car Nicobar on 26th & 27th October, the general public including students, patients, Sr. Citizens, tribal peoples among others have expressed that they are unable to pay Rs.500/-charges for Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) fixed by the Administration.

Former Councillors of Ward No. 6 Donate 500 Kgs of Bleaching Powder to PBMC
Port Blair, Oct. 29: Shri Aziz-ur-Rahman (Niyamat), former Councillor of Ward No 6 and Smti. Protima Banerjee former Councillor Ward No. 6 today donated over 500 Kgs of bleaching powder to the PBMC Sanitary Officer, Shri Vijay Tiwari and Senior Sanitary Inspector, Shri Vijay Kumar at the site office (Khaitan Kalyan Mandapam). The bleaching powder was donated to PBMC on public demand, to ascertain that the slippery roads and footpaths are cleaned. It is learnt that the PBMC was running short of Bleaching Powder to be used for various purposes apart from cleaning roads and footpaths.
