Kadamtala, Oct. 21: In an astonishing incident reported today evening, the Medical Officer of PHC Kadamtala has been alleged to have abused a Great Andamanese man for not wearing his face mask properly. It has also been alleged that the concerned Doctor also tried to manhandle the Great Andamanese man after abusing him.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: On 21st October, the Police Flag Day was observed by A&N Police to commemorate the supreme sacrifice made by valiant police personnel in the service of nation. From this year, Government of India has decided to observe ‘Commemoration Day’ as a Police Flag Day, followed by commemorative events upto 31st October (National Unity Day). On this solemn occasion, A&N Police force led by Sh. Dependra Pathak, DGP, A&N Islands along with rank & file paid homage to the brave souls who laid their lives at the altar of duty by placing wreath at Saheed Smarak, Parade ground, Police Line.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary (Social Welfare), A&N Administration to ensure timely disbursement of Pension/Allowances to the Old age, Widows, Destitute and Divyanjan persons who did not receive their entitled pension/allowance since the past 5 - 6 months. The beneficiaries in absence of receipt of pension are unable to procure their day to day requirements and are forced to depend on others. The MP has requested the Secretary (SW) to issue specific directions to the concerned authorities to ensure timely disbursement of their pension/allowances every month without fail.
