Mayabunder, Aug 6: Keeping in view the increased cases being reported in South Andaman District resulting in increased chances of ship passengers to be infected, who come to North & Middle Andaman District and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the N&M Andaman, the District Magistrate, N&M Andaman has directed that all persons coming to the district must undergo home quarantine for 14 days mandatorily from the date of arrival into the district.
Any person violating the above directives shall be liable to proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under Section 188 of the IPC and other legal provisions as applicable. This shall also be applicable to all passengers who are already under quarantine after arriving on or after 29th July 2020.
