Port Blair, March 2: The Coast Guard Component of Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a blood donation camp under aegis of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Port Blair. The blood donation camp was organised on 28 Feb 22 by CG Dist HQ, in co-ordination with GB Pant hospital. The objective of the camp was to motivate people to donate blood voluntarily with the aim of saving precious lives of needy patients. The camp was inaugurated by IG Dinesh Rajaputhran, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar). As many as 62 volunteers donated blood during the camp.

During the blood donation camp, all protocols set by the Government for COVID-19 pandemic were followed. On arrival of donors, registration was done and thereafter the volunteers went through medical screening, followed by donation of blood.
