Port Blair, March 21: A Special Meeting was conducted by the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS for administering Oath of allegiance and conduct of election to the Office of Pramukh and the Up-Pramukh, Port Blair Panchayat Samiti on 21st March 2022.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman chaired the special meeting in the Conference Hall of Panchayat Samiti Port Blair, during which all the newly elected members of the Panchayat Samiti, Port Blair Tehsil were present and subsequently Oath of Allegiance was administered to all the 6 newly elected members of Panchayat Samiti, Port Blair.

Soon after administering of Oath to all the elected 6 members, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman initiated the process for election to the Office of the Pramukh and Up-Pramukh of Port Blair Panchayat Samiti.

In the election to the Office of Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Port Blair for the term (2022-2027), Ms. Champa Das (BJP) from Neil Kendra Constituency filed a nomination for the office of Pramukh and Shri. Satyanarayan D (BJP), from Calicut Constituency filed a nomination for the office of Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti.

As no other nominations were filed, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman declared, Ms. Champa Das and Shri Satyanarayan D elected for the office of Pramukh & Up-Pramukh unopposed.

Certificate of Election was handed over to Ms. Champa Das and Shri Satyanarayan D and Oath of Office to the newly elected Pramukh and Up-Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti, Port Blair was administered by Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman congratulated all the newly elected Panchayat Samiti Members and the newly elected Pramukh and Up-Pramukh of Panchayat Samiti, Port Blair.
