Port Blair, Aug 30: Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman/Secretary (RD) Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shri. Radhey Shyam Meena, DANICS, Director (RD/PRIs) along with Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Sippighat, SDM, Director (RD), SE (PRIs) and EE (PRIs) inspected the Sippighat creek area to evaluate the scope of rural tourism. The PRIs had suggested and put forth the proposal for opening of the creek area for tourism activities and create infrastructure for captivating vantage points for the rural tourism.

The DC (SA)-cum-Secretary (RD) along with Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Wandoor and PRI members also inspected the New Wandoor Beach area and seen the cleanliness of the beach area for tourism purposes and the site proposed for new toilet block.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with other officials also inspected the rural road leading to Hasmatabad-2 and Hasmatabad-3 wherein the villagers had reported damage in the road and proposed for repairing the remaining portion of the road to be constructed under PMGSY-II. The team also inspected Lohabarrack road and the issue of construction of parking area which is to be developed by APWD department. Instructions were issued to the concerned Executive Engineer, APWD for expediting the work. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman interacted with villagers and they had raised the issues pertaining to Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution. Later in the evening, the DC (SA) subsequently conducted a meeting with the officials of Civil Supplies department, IOCL and LPG distributors to mitigate the issues related to irregular distribution of LPG in rural areas and directions were issued to inform the monthly distribution schedule to general public for their convenience.

After this, inspection of Maymyo road was undertaken and instructions were issued to the SE (PRI) for timely completion of ongoing work and to examine new proposal of the work.

The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman and Director (RD/PRIs) also inspected the agricultural market haat being developed by agriculture department which shall be handed over to Humphrygunj Gram Panchayat by the Rural Development Department.
