Port Blair, March 3: Continuing the weeklong celebration of International Women’s Day, on 3rd March 2023 a program was organized at Chouldari Community Hall wherein Shri Kuldeep Rai, Member of Parliament graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

On the occasion the guest speaker Smti. Kusum Singh, GTT Govt. Model Sr. Sec School enlightened the gathering on this year's International Women’s Day theme “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” and encouraged women to come forward and be self-reliant.

Addressing the gathering of women, Kuldeep Rai Sharma said that the need of the hour for a woman in our society is to be financially stable and strong. He said Chouldari is the best place as it offers women with opportunities towards the journey of becoming self-dependent.

He stated the fact that this village is adjacent to the sea and many families generate income and make their livelihood through the large fish market. He suggested that wonders will happen if the women take up an initiative and start making fish pickles, prawn pickles, crab pickles especially Tuna Fish Pickles as Tuna fish is available in abundance in the Andaman sea and are in high demand even in the International Market. He said that putting these pickles out in the market would be a huge hit and become a source of income.

He also pointed out how Chouldari is adjacent to a calm silent sea and in the coming days it can be a major water sports and entertainment hub and would in turn open ways of employment and generate livelihood for everyone.
