Port Blair, July 5: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University to postpone the Pondicherry University exams to originally scheduled dates of 20 July 2023 onwards, so that the students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands can concentrate on the local Recruitment Exams and perform to the best of their abilities.

In a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University, the Member of Parliament mentioned about the Recruitment Exams for several posts in various departments of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, scheduled to be conducted on dates between 9th July to 23 July 2023.

He pointed out that the Pondicherry University exams for students in local colleges are commencing from 12th July 2023. Initially, these exams were supposed to begin after 20th July 2023.

He added that dates of some Recruitment Exams are coinciding with Pondicherry University Exams and these conflicting schedules have put students in a predicament. This overlap of examination dates has caused significant confusion, trauma, and stress among the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that the Recruitment Exams for various posts in A & N Administration hold great significance for our youths of these Islands, being a rare opportunity to fill a substantial number of vacancies after several years and hence it is crucial that students can focus on their preparations without any distractions and mental burden.

In this regard, he requested the Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University to postpone the Pondicherry University exams to originally scheduled dates of 20 July 2023 onwards.
