Port Blair, July 30: A selection trials for the 60th National Open Chess Championship 2023 was conducted by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association at ANCA Chess Centre, Dairy Farm, today (30.07.2023).
Dr. S Senthil Kumar, IFS, Additional PCCF, A & N Islands, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for opening ceremony who made the ceremony first move against R Kashthuri Bhai on the top board to kick start the event in presence of the Office bearers of Andaman Nicobar Chess Association & South Andaman District Chess Association (SADCA)
Each Affiliated State Association is entitled to send four entries for the Championship. The following chess players have been selected as per the final standings of the Selection Trials to represent A & N Islands in the upcoming prestigious 60th National Open Chess Championship 2023, scheduled to held in Pune, Maharashtra at Shri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex from 16.08.2023 to 26.08.2023.
The best four players were awarded with cash prize by Shri. J Balakrishna, President, District Chess Association, who graced the occasion as special guest for the closing ceremony.

5) Virat J S - Standby
6) Srimannaryana AKS - Standby
The selected players are hereby informed to submit their consent letter of participation latest by on or before 1st August 2023, 1.00 pm through whatsapp @9434293379 or at ANCA Office, Dairy Farm, failing which the next player in the Final Standings will be considered for participation.
