Port Blair, May 3: ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ is celebrated on 10th April, each year across the globe. This year, the day commemorated the 269th birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician. As part of the observance, various activities/events like medical camps, awareness talks, TV/Radio shows etc. were conducted by Homoeopathy Units across the UT under the Health Department.

The valedictory function of ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ was organized at AYUSH Hospital on April 10, in which, Dr. Suja Antony, Director, Health Services was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr. Avijit Roy, DD (Health) and Smt. Sumithamol, Director, CRC-A&N Islands were the guests of honour.

Dr. Supria Arangi, Medical Officer (Homoeo), AYUSH Hospital gave a PPT on the theme ‘Empowering Research, Enhancing Proficiency in Homoeopathy’. A mini exhibition on the sources of Homoeopathy medicines was also put up along with IEC display. A competition on ‘Nutritious meal for the kids’ was conducted among the AWWs.

Earlier, Dr. Kalyan P. Kadbhane, DD (AYUSH) welcomed the gathering and the programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Krishnan Kutty, MO (Homoeo).
