Mayabunder, May 9: The District Administration, North & Middle Andaman district with the aim of Zero Tolerance towards encroachment, conducted encroachment eviction drives on the second day in all 3 Sub Divisions. This initiative aims to reclaim Government land and foster a safer and more organized community environment.

Under the vigilant supervision of the Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, the Revenue Officials meticulously identified and removed unauthorized structures, encroachments, and illegal occupations across designated areas within the district. The operation demonstrated a steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of public spaces.

During the eviction drive, temporary structures on various encroached Govt. land viz. Devpur village (temporary structure of 200 sq. mtrs in front of District Correctional Home), Lucknow Village (temporary structure of 500 sq. mtrs) under Mayabunder Tehsil, Kadamtala village (19,000 sq. mtrs of arecanut and banana plantation), Rampur Village (katcha shed and plantation of 5000 sq. mtrs) under Rangat Tehsil and DB Gram village (7,200 sq. mtrs of arecanut and banana plantation) under Diglipur Tehsil were evicted and restored into Govt. Khata with the assistance of Revenue Inspector, Patwari, Patwari Assistant and other revenue staff.

Throughout the operation, the District Administration prioritized transparency, accountability, and adherence to legal procedures.

The encroachment eviction drive reflects the District Administration's unwavering dedication in promoting sustainable development, preserving natural resources, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents. By safeguarding public assets and enforcing land use regulations, the Administration seeks to create an environment conducive to economic growth, social cohesion, and civic harmony.

This eviction drive is part of the ongoing commitment of the District Administration to uphold a zero-tolerance policy against encroachment of Government land. The Administration vows to continue such efforts to further clear encroachments from Government land.

Meanwhile, the general public have been urged to cooperate by reporting any illegal constructions or encroachments on Government land by individuals to the Control Rooms with Phone Number (03192262960- Mayabunder, 03192274248-Rangat and 03192272260- Diglipur) or concerned area revenue field functionaries.
