Port Blair, Oct. 15: The Central Executive Committee Meeting of the Non-Gazetted Government Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands held on 13th October, 2012 at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair, has reviewed the campaign programme launched by the Association among government employees and workers in the islands about the 15-point Demands circulated by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi.  

The meeting decided to intensify the campaign among the government employees and workers in the islands on these issues. 

Mass Dharna, Mass Demonstration, corner meetings, campaign at offices, schools and work places will be organized in the islands also. These programmes are being organized throughout the country by central government employees at the call given by the Confederation of Central Govt. Employees & Workers, New Delhi to which the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is affiliated. 

The  15-point Demands include (1) revise wages of central government employees with effect from 1.1.2011 by setting up 7th Central Pay Commission  and every five years thereafter,  (2) merge DA with pay for all purposes including pension with effect from 1.1.2011 (3) scrap the New Pension Scheme and extend the statutory defined benefit pension to all central government employees 4) stop downsizing, outsourcing, contractorirsation, corporatisation and privatization of government functions, (5) fill up all vacant posts  and create posts on functional requirements  (6)  stop price rise and strengthen PDS (7) regularize the services of daily rated workers, contingent workers, Casual workers and bring in a permanent scheme of regularization (8) revise ORA and Night Duty Allowance (9) remove restrictions imposed on compassionate ground appointments, etc.
