Port Blair, May 27: The beneficiaries under the Indira Awas Yojna were paid financial assistance for construction of houses in two installments based on the progress of construction. The total amount payable per dwelling is Rs. 48,500/-, which is paid in equal installments. 

 

After interaction with the villagers and officials in the matter, the Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray has directed the concerned authorities to make payment of the IAY assistance in three installments of 40%, 40% and 20% for the operational convenience of the scheme. Accordingly, the Project Director, DRDA, South Andaman has now implemented the scheme of making payment in three installments to the IAY beneficiaries.
