Port Blair, Jan. 30: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose did not die in an air crash. His end was in Russia, claims Purabi Roy, author of the book ‘The Search for Netaji: New Findings’ during a press conference organised at the Member of Parliament’s office today.

INA had so much wealth. It was around Rs. 72,000 Crores leave apart donations in the form of gold. Where has the money vanished, she asked relating to her revelations.

Prof. Purabi Roy is a retired professor of Jadavpur University and an expert in Russian Language.

There are three different death reports of Netaji. This in itself is questionable. I have collected valid documents from various archives in the world. It reveals the true picture of the Indian Government, she explained.

My findings also indicate that Lord Mount Batten, a year before India’s independence had requested Jawaharlal Nehru to discuss on the wealth of INA and they had decided it. Nehru had proceeded to Singapore soon after the request sent by Lord Mount Batten. When Anna Hazare is fighting against corruption in the independent India that ways back to 1947, I am surprised no one talks about corruption in the pre-independent era, Purabi commented.

On being asked about the stand of the present Indian govt. on the issue, Purabi said, “Govt.’s stand is total silence”.

“My book is based on circumstantial evidences, which the Govt. cannot agree”.

I call upon the Govt. of India to request the Russian Govt. to give back our history, the revolutionary author exclaimed.

Purabi Roy is presently on a visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands to be a part of the month long ‘Netaji’s Memorial Celebration’ being organised by ‘Netaji Satbhabna Manch’, A&N branch. The author had initiated more such Satbhabna Manch in states like Assam, Meghalaya etc. The next manch would be set up in Orissa.

This book written by Prof Purabi Roy is the result of fifteen years or more of academic scholarship by the author herself. The book aims to understand one of the pervading puzzles of independent India - or what happened to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose?
