Port Blair, May 11: According to a communication from the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, the Standing Finance Committee, A&N Administration has given clearance to three power generation projects in the Andaman region. The projects are: Establishment of 5 MW Solar Photovoltaic Power Project at South Andaman to supplement costly diesel generation by DG sets at an estimated cost of Rs. 81.23 Crores. Establishment of Kalpong Downstream Small Hydro Prokect (2 x 250 KW) on the tailrace of existing 5.25 MW Kalpong Hydro Project Power House at Namagram, Diglipur, North Andaman at an estimated cost of Rs. 12.18 Crores. And Establishment of 2x100 KW Korang Small Hydro Project (SHP) across Korang Nallah, Middle Andaman at an estimated cost of Rs. 7.6 Crores.
