Port Blair, Jan. 24: It is notified for the information of the General Public that the following Traffic arrangements have been made for the Republic Day celebrations on 26th January 2012.

1. The movement of all vehicular traffic shall be closed from 0800 Hrs to 1030 Hrs at the following points.

(i) Raj Niwas to National Memorial Cellular Jail via Old Telephone Exchange, Vikas Bhaoan (ANIIDCO), Scouts Hut’s Crossing, Andaman Club, Y-Narayan Junction and CRPF Barrack.

 (ii) Gymkhana Crossing to R. K. Mission via Dharamshala and Girls School Crossing.

(iii) R. K. Mission to Government Press.

 (iv) R. K. Mission to Raj Niwas via Machi Line, Murugan Temple and Gandhi                      Park.

2. The Carcade of Hon'ble Lt. Governor and other dignitaries who are holders of parking card “P" shall be parked inside Netaji Stadium and near the Andaman Club.

3. The holders of car parking label "P" may use any route of their choice to approach the place of function but they are requested to reach the place of function latest by 0800 hrs failing which their vehicles will be stopped near Gymkhana crossing itself.

4. The holders of "P-I" parking cards and other vehicles i.e. four wheelers/two wheelers will arrive at the Stadium via Model School-Clock Tower-Gymkhana crossing to Netaji Stadium. Thereafter the vehicles shall proceed to the car parking at the Fisheries Museum, Aberdeen Jetty and Post Office. After the departure of all vehicles parked inside the Stadium and near Andaman Club having "P" Parking labels, the vehicles of label "P-l" will come to the main entrance of Netaji Stadium and shall leave via Scout Hut Junction-Girls School Crossing-RK Mission and RGT Road alongwith their guests.

5. After the departure of the "Hon'ble Lt. Governor" from the place of the function, the vehicles bearing car parking label "P" shall follow the route through Scout Hut Junction-Vikas Bhavan (ANIIDCO)-Fire Brigade-Old Telephone Junction-APWD crossing and to their destinations.

6. All other vehicles without any parking label including two and four wheelers will be parked near Water Sports Complex.

7. The parade will enter the stadium from Mahavir Singh Road from the entrance gate situated near the Dharamshala Crossing. The parade will pass the saluting dais inside the stadium and will proceed towards the exit gate situated at Mahavir Singh Road near the 1857 Martyr's Memorial. Thereafter, the parade will take the following route:

"Girls School Crossing-Scout Hut Crossing-Youth Hostel-Gymkhana Crossing-Clock Tower-Annapurna Crossing to Aberdeen Fire Station i.e. the Parade Dispersal Point."

8. The Tableaux will also follow the same gate for entry and exit of Netaji Stadium from Mahavir Singh Road. After passing from the saluting dais, the tableaux will come out from the exit gate and will take a left turn and follow the following route:

"Dharamsala Crossing-'Y' Narayan Junction-Clock Tower-Anapurna Crossing to Aberdeen Fire Brigade and halt until the crowd gets dispersed.”

9. The vehicles intending to proceed to South Point from Aberdeen Bazar shall be diverted towards Model School Crossing-Bengali Club-Goalghar-Secretariat Junction-Police Line and Nayagaon and vice-versa. No heavy vehicles including Private and STS buses will be allowed to proceed to Aberdeen Bazar from Gandhi Statue and Bengali Club Junction from 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs. The vehicles intending to proceed to Aberdeen Bazar from South Point will follow the route of South Point, Shadipur, Nayagaon Junction, Police Line, RBV, Secretariat Junction and Goalghar. Heavy vehicles proceeding to long route shall be diverted to Goalghar and Junglighat from Bengali Club.

10. No vehicle shall be allowed to proceed to Aberdeen Bazar after the function from any direction till the crowd gets dispersed.

11. The vehicles carrying the parade contingents after dropping the contingents at Mahavir Singh Road shall proceed to Fire Brigade and will remain stationed there. After culmination of parade at Fire Brigade they will take their respective Parade contingents and proceed to their respective units.

12. All the vehicular traffic shall remain suspended in the stretches from Annapurna to Clock Tower, Clock Tower to Dharamshala, Dharamshala to RK. Mission and Raj Niwas to National Memorial via Netaji Stadium from 0800 hrs.

13. No vehicles shall be allowed to proceed towards the place of function from any side after 0800 hrs.

14. Further vehicles intending to proceed to GB Pant Hospital shall follow the route of Gandhi Statue-Marine Gate-Sisty Nagar-Dignabad-Sea Shore Road-Khan Junction-exit gate of G. B. Pant Hospital and then G. B. Pant Hospital.

15. Private tourist boats carrying tourists from Aberdeen Jetty to Ross Island, North Bay etc. should be shifted to Chatham jetty on 26th January 2012.
