Port Blair, Aug. 10: Janmastami, the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated at MGIS yesterday 9th Aug. 2012. Student attired themselves in Indian Traditional Dress and some of the tiny tots as Radha and Krishna. The School was decorated with pictures of Krishna and Matkies, giving a feel of Vrindawan were little angles danced on Krishn’s Songs.

Students were informed about Krishna’s life and his thoughts, which gave concept of holy book “Geeta”

Special Matka was prepared on the occasion, which was later broken by Kanha and his friends (tiny tots) together to get sweets from it.

This event was an attempt to bring awareness among the children about traditional customs. After the performance of tiny tots came the much awaited movement which comprised of Matka breaking of senior students  which was the most interesting programme of the day.

Dandia was also performed by the students, which was later joined by the teachers and the choreographer.
