Port Blair, Aug. 14: Shri R. Mohan, State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party has requested the Lt. Governor to consider revising the honorarium paid to the guest lecturers working in the Government colleges. In his letter, the State President argued that the honorarium paid to the Mainland counterparts is much more than that paid in the Islands. He further stated that even the salary/honorarium paid to the teachers under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is more than these lecturers, who have completed their Master Degree with M. Phil or Phd. and are devoting more than 6 to 8 hours a days to take the classes.

Mohan has thus requested the Lt. Governor to consider revising the honorarium at par with the Mainland lecturers so that they can feed the family reasonably.
