Port Blair, Aug. 14: Applications are invited for Pre-Matric and Post Matric Scholarship for the year 2012-13 from the students belonging to minority communities notified by the Central Government, who pursuing studies from class I to X and from class XI to Ph.D (XI, XII, Technical/Vocational, Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil & Ph.D) respectively studying in Government recognized private Schools/Colleges/Institutes latest by 31/8/2012 through the Head of the School/College/Institute of the student.

The financial assistance will be given to eligible students who have secured not less than 50% marks in previous final examination and annual income of his/her parents/guardians from all sources not exceeding Rs. 1 lakh for Pre-matric and Rs. 2 lakhs for Post-matric Scholarship. A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the studies and will not be given to more than two students in a family. Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend up-on the successful completion of the courses during the preceding years. 30% of scholarships are reserved for female candidates, if enough women candidates are not available, male candidates would be selected.

Application for 'Fresh and for Renewal (who were granted Pre-matric scholarship for previous years) in the prescribed format along with supporting documents should be submitted to the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, Goalghar, Port Blair.

The Ministry of Minority Affairs has informed that Online Scholarship Management System (OSMS) is being introduced from the year 2012-13 and this site is accessible through URL www.momascholarship.gov.in this link is also hyper linked with Ministry website www.minorityaffairs.gov.in. The FAQs, for filling up of online application, available on the homepage of the website of the Ministry of Minority. Applicants are advised to take printouts of the duly filled-in application forms, through OSMS, and to submit the same along with all supporting documents through their respective Schools/Colleges/Institutes to Directorate of Social Welfare, Goalghar, Port Blair.

The following documents should be enclosed along with the prescribed application for both the scholarship i.e Pre-Matric and Post Matric Scholarship:

1.             One copy of passport size photograph with signature pasted   on application form

2.             Attested certificates of educational qualifications

3.             Income declaration-affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper         worth Rs.10/- for self-employed parents/guardian or income                 certificate from the employer for employed parents/guardian.

4.             Minority community declaration-affidavit on non-judicial           stamp paper worth Rs.10/- by the student that he/she                 belongs to anyone of the minority communities notified by       Central Government. (certificate not required to be enclosed   for renewal application).

5.             Proof of permanent residence (Certificate not required to be   enclosed for renewal application if address has not changed).

6.             Receipt in acknowledgement of scholarship in the previous     year duly countersigned by the Head of the school/institute.(for renewal case)

Non-submission of above said declaration/documents, unsigned, incomplete application will result in summary rejection without assigning any reason whatsoever.
